Course Description:
Discover the art of cake decorating in this engaging 10-week course with expert tutor Barbara Riggi. Perfect for beginners, this course will guide you step by step in creating beautiful, edible creations to enjoy and share.
Throughout the course, students will develop a strong foundation in essential techniques including:
Recipes and tutorials are provided throughout.
This is a beginner-friendly course, though those with some experience may also benefit from refining and enhancing their skills.
Equipment
A cake decorating kit (€45) is available to purchase directly from the tutor.
Alternatively, students are welcome to bring their own tools.
A detailed equipment list will be shared 2–3 weeks before the course begins, and weekly guidance on required materials will be provided by email.

Meet Our Tutor: Barbara Riggi
Barbara Riggi is the owner of Barbara Riggi Cakes (www.barbarariggicakes.com), a boutique cake design studio specialising in bespoke, wedding cakes.
Her passion for baking began in her grandmother’s kitchen in Sicily, where she developed a deep appreciation for exceptional food and the artistry of sugar craft. Following an earlier career in Finance, Barbara chose to pursue this passion professionally, completing a Professional Diploma in Baking & Sugar Craft at the DIT National Bakery School in 2015, before establishing her business in 2016.
Barbara’s work has been featured in leading wedding publications, online blogs, and on national television. Her studio was recognised as one of “The Cream of Irish Bakers” by The Sunday Times Magazine in 2020, and in 2025 she was awarded “Cake Designer of the Year” at the WeddingSuppliers.ie Awards.
A passionate and dedicated tutor, Barbara brings both technical expertise and creative flair to her teaching. She is committed to helping students develop new skills, build confidence, and take pride in creating their own beautiful work.
She looks forward to welcoming students into her class and supporting them as their baking skills flourish.
