Calligraphy - All Levels - Wednesday Evening

This class will suit both Beginners and Intermediate/Advanced level.

Hello and Welcome to Modern Calligraphy! I am so excited for you to take your first step into the wonderful world of calligraphy. Today we will be learning the basics of brush pen calligraphy which combines the beauty of a traditional script while also allowing more flexibility. This class is perfect for both beginners and more experienced calligraphy artists as it starts with the very basics but builds up to word creation and phrase layout. During this course we will start with the seven foundation strokes of modern calligraphy, proceed to assembling these to build alphabets and words. We will also learn how to write upper case alphabets and stylise the letters to make them more dynamic and finally cover other fun ways you can put this skill to use.

We will be using hard tip Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pens (easily available online) and tracing paper for this course and students will receive worksheets created by the instructor to practice tracing and free-handing all the strokes in guidelines created for this pen.
