The aim of the programme is to provide the student with the opportunity to extend their understanding of electrical and electronic principles. Students will be exposed to terminology, electrical and electronic devices related to DC and AC circuits. Students will be able to interpret, test and measure basic DC circuits.
An understanding of sensors and their signal conditioning will be obtained using light, heat and strain sensors. A basic introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) will be undertaken. Students will be familiar with hardware used in Local Area Network (LAN) and develop the ability to solve primary level faults in a LAN.
