This 12-week part-time course aims to support nurses/midwives/Health and Social Care Professionals (HSCPs) in enhancing their knowledge, skills and understanding of the core principles of palliative care. This aim is in line with the National Clinical Programme for Palliative Care HSE (2014) objective to build palliative care capacity among all nurses/midwives/allied health professions to respond confidently and in a timely manner to the palliative care needs of individuals and their families in any health care setting.
