English For Speakers Of Other languages – Communication & Conversation

Course Description:

This course is designed for adults who have recently arrived and are living and working in Ireland for whom English is not their first language

This course aims to help people to make a life in Ireland through English and deal successfully with all the situations that will arise at home, socially and work. In this class you will learn to communicate in an effective manner in everyday situations such as shopping, ordering food, directions etc.

This course will give you the opportunity to learn and practice the language

Course content:

Speaking – learning and practising useful phrases for speaking situations
Listening – Improving your listening skills
Writing – improve your writing which is relevant to your work and personal life
Reading – Improving your reading skills
Grammar – Using grammar more accurately
Vocabulary – Increasing your vocabulary
Pronunciation – Improving pronunciation through speaking and listening

Entry Requirements:

No formal entry requirement. Please note this course is NOT suitable for highly proficient users of English. This course is suited for beginners

Course Day & Time: Monday evenings 7.30 – 9.30
