Unleash your creative side through the art of drawing and painting. Within weeks learn the techniques and skills needed to illustrate and paint from your own inspiration and creative thoughts.
Students will be encouraged to develop their ideas through research and working on personal projects. Subjects covered include, drawing from observation, ideas development, colour work, and developing a personal project.
The initial classes of the course include a revision of the basic methods in painting. As the course progresses, more complicated techniques and processes are added. Acrylic paint, and to a lesser extent, oil paint, is used if desired. Watercolours are not covered.
Through continual emphasis on idea generation, group discussion, evaluation and practical application, students will identify and clarify the process involved in producing a body of art work. The visual research will be presented through sketchbooks, worksheets and resolved paintings.
This course is suitable for students of all levels: Students that wish to attempt a new hobby or to build on existing skills.
A materials list will be distributed before commencement of the course.
