This one-year course will prepare students to work in the hairdressing and haircare industries. This is the ideal starting point for a successful and fulfilling career in the hairdressing industry. Students develop the required skills to work in a professional salon and also perfect the customer communication essential to its success.
The course will cover all key areas of hairdressing which will enhance students’ techniques and their creative and interpersonal skills. This course caters for school leavers and mature students.

| Career Path | Graduates who qualify in this area can pursue a career in styling, theatrical film work, general hairdressing work, hairdressing retail outlets or it can lead to placement as a senior 1st year apprentice in a hairdressing salon. Further study for junior and senior trade certificates can be undertaken in Dunboyne College. Graduates may further their study at Level 6 in the hair industry in Dunboyne College of Further Education or any level 7 or level 8 degrees at technological universities around the country. Students who undertake this one-year course in Pre- Physiotherapy studies will gain an understanding of the principles and practices of rehabilitation and an insight into how to assess and treat clients whose movement is restricted by illness, injury, disability or age.
This one-year Health Care Assistant course will aim to prepare students for work with people in a hospital, respite care, social care, community development or residential setting.
This one-year course will equip students with the relevant knowledge and experience to work as a pharmacy counter assistant or pursue a pharmacy technician qualification in the future.
This one-year Animal Care Assistant course is designed to give students an introduction to the world of animal care and grooming.
