Course Content

Our Introduction to Acting course is perfect for anyone who is thinking about a future career in acting and those who simply want to challenge themselves by stretching their creative muscles.

Led by The Lir Academy’s core teachers, this workshop-based evening course is taught over 10 weeks. Each two-and-a-half-hour session consists of a physical warm-up followed by a voice, movement or improvisation class, and finishes with a 90-minute acting workshop.

Suitable for beginners, the course will cover key elements of actor training including voice, movement and improvisation, and will introduce participants to classical and contemporary play texts. These workshops act as both a taste of drama school training and as a broad and basic introduction to the craft of acting.
