TU Dublin Environment & Planning are running a BSc in Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (TU835) combined programme. The level 8 programme provides a practical and professionally-accredited pathway to a range of fulfilling careers. It should interest anyone with an interest in addressing climate change and improving the environment.
After a common first year programme, students can choose between two streams: either spatial planning, which focusses on planning the future of towns and cities; or environmental management, which is about managing a sustainable environment for the future.
Year 3 includes a work placement, with many recent graduates going on to find employment with their work placement partner. Third year also includes a field trip to a European city or region, chosen to demonstrate best practice in sustainable development. Year four allows full specialisation in a chosen field, including the completion of a research project.
The programme is highly practical and applied, with multiple field-trips and practical project assignments taking place in every year. Students of the programme have gone on Erasmus and other exchanges to: Beijing (China), Dundee (Scotland), HCU Hafencity (Germany), TU Dortmund (Germany), Tampere (Finland), Lyon (France) and many others.
Many graduates have found positions within highly regarded commercial and private sector organisations, including: –
