This programme provides the opportunity for employees to combine online study of industry-related academic modules with completion of workplace-based learning anchored in the workplace. This provides a robust, efficient, and cost-effective means of study towards a Level 8 degree, from the student's place of employment, and is designed to enhance personal subject-based and transversal skills/competencies to enhance graduate employability and advancement. Programme StructureThis innovative programme combines a blend of workplace-based learning modules plus online academic modules undertaken over two semesters comprising one academic year. This latest programme offering from the Department of Life Sciences at ATU Sligo has been developed in conjunction with industry to allow employees the opportunity to study towards a BSc Honours (Level 8) qualification whilst they are working. Graduates of the BSc Honours in Applied Industrial Science (Level 8) programme will therefore have gained relevant academic knowledge and industry-based skills throughout their studies which should enhance employability and career advancement. The programme is open to employees who hold a cognate Level 7 qualification, wishing to gain a Level 8 qualification in Applied Industrial Science while anchored in an appropriate industrial science-based workplace for the duration of the programme.
