Entry requirements

Applications for this cybersecurity course are open to candidates who meet the following minimum entry requirements:

Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have achieved a Grade O6/H7 or higher in at least five Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics.

Alternatively, candidates may present a qualification from a related discipline that is equivalent to or higher than Level 6 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

FETAC/QQI Applicants: Candidates must have completed a full FETAC/QQI Level 5 or Level 6 Major Award.

Mature Applicants
We welcome applications from mature candidates who are 23 years of age or older as of January 1st in the year of entry. Applicants who wish to apply based on Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) must demonstrate their ability to succeed in the course by providing evidence of their prior education, work experience, and motivation. To support your application, you must submit:

  • A detailed CV
  • A personal statement outlining your motivation for pursuing this course and your commitment to success
  • Two work-based references
  • Any relevant documentation, such as certificates from training courses you have completed

English Language Requirements
For applicants whose first language is not English, a proficiency level of B2+ on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) is required. This corresponds to an IELTS Academic score of 6.0, or an equivalent qualification.

Course structure

This Cybersecurity course is designed for full-time study, with on-campus classes typically held three days per week. Lectures are scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm, ensuring a minimum of 15 hours of direct instruction per week. This structure allows for a focused, immersive learning experience.
