This online Abrasive Wheels Awareness Training course is designed for anyone who works with or around abrasive wheels and requires a clear understanding of their safe selection, mounting, and use. It is suitable for both new and experienced personnel seeking to ensure compliance with Irish and UK legislation.

Participants can complete the course fully online, incorporating both theoretical learning and practical video demonstrations, reviewed by a qualified instructor.

Approximately 90–120 minutes (self-paced, online)

• Abrasive Wheels regulations (Ireland & UK)
• Hazards associated with abrasive wheels
• Marking system according to EN 12413
• Key parts and functions of abrasive wheel machines
• Legal responsibilities of employers and employees
• Correct storage, handling, and transport of wheels
• Reading and interpreting wheel labels and markings
• Differences between wheel types and shapes
• Safe selection, mounting, and operation of abrasive wheels
• Video upload assessment – demonstration of practical techniques

Certification:
A Guardian Safety Abrasive Wheels Training Certificate (3-year certificate) is awarded upon successful completion of both the theoretical and practical components.
Participants upload 4 short videos demonstrating abrasive wheel techniques, which our qualified instructor reviews. Feedback and certification are issued every Friday.
